diamond ring

A delicate and elegant antique Edwardian ring set with a glittering assortment of diamonds and opals. The ring is worked in 18ct yellow gold, designed as a marquise shaped mount set with a line of five graduated opals within a surround of twenty two rose cut diamonds, to the bifurcated shoulders and plain band. The opals are of a translucent blue body, with a broad iridescence displaying mainly blue and green, with strong flashes of red and orange.

The ring is hallmarked for 18ct gold, Chester, 1910. The hallmarks are partially rubbed but discernible. Total diamond weight approximately 0.20ct.
